Resurgence is Portsmouth's extremely popular goth night, originally started in Scandals in around 1997 and now at The Loft. DJ and goth historian Pete Scathe plays a mix of goth, post-punk and alternative 80s, with a core of classic goth bands like Bauhaus, Cure, Siouxsie, Sisters, Danse Society, Xmal, (Southern)(Death) Cult etc alongside post-punk/alt 80s bands like Joy Division, Echo & the Bunnymen and Chameleons and more modern post-punk like Twin Tribes, She Past Away, Lebanon Hanover etc
